What is the MSO Exchange?
MSO Exchange Items are Request for Quotations submitted by buyers on Metal
Suppliers Online. When a buyer submits an Exchange Item, they select which
suppliers they would like to invite to bid on their Exchange Item. The list
of suppliers from
which they chose has been pre-screened for appropriateness with respect to
product listings, location, and company size. Additionally, all Exchange
Items are reviewed
by a Metals Market Maker, to further insure that invitations to bid are only
sent to the most appropriate suppliers for a given Exchange Item.
What do I need to do to be able to post Exchange Items?
All you have to do is register as a buyer on MSO. Additionally, you will be verified by
a Metals Market Maker the first time you post.
How do I view bids on an MSO Exchange Item?
Bids can be viewed in the My Buying section of the Buyer Center.
How do I accept a bid on my Exchange Item?
When viewing a bid in the My Buying section, you will be presented with
the option to accept the bid. Once you have accepted a bid, you will be required to
fill out payment and shipping information. Finally, the supplier will set up
the final shipping times either with the buyer or with our freight service provider.
